Overview :

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established financial services organisation that is investing significantly in its data and reporting capabilities. As part of this strategic growth, they are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Data Engineer to join their team onsite at their Watford headquarters.

The Role :

As a key member of the data team, you'll work closely with senior technology stakeholders to help define and deliver business intelligence strategies that support informed decision-making across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities :

Help shape and implement both short- and long-term data strategies

Design, develop and maintain BI dashboards and reports

Analyse complex and large-scale reporting requirements

Mentor and support junior team members

Test and validate reports to ensure accuracy and data integrity

Liaise with both internal teams and third-party partners

Continuously improve reporting tools, standards, and processes

Technical Requirements :

4+ years' experience in a Data Engineering or BI Development role

Strong SQL skills, with experience in Amazon Redshift (MySQL desirable)

Proficient with data visualisation tools - Amazon QuickSight preferred

Familiarity with AWS Glue and Python scripting for ETL

Strong data modelling expertise

Experience integrating data from varied sources and types

Proven experience working in Agile teams, using tools like JIRA and Confluence

SAP Business Objects knowledge is helpful but not essential
