Mechanical Design Engineer Job DescriptionManage the mechanical design process, ensuring project deliverables are met on time and to specification.Collaborate with clients and internal design teams to integrate mechanical systems into the overall plant design.Develop piping layouts, P&IDs, and equipment schedules to support the plant’s functionality.Perform mechanical calculations, including hydraulic analysis and FEA.Specify materials and coordinate with supply chain partners, ensuring technical compliance and quality standards.Participate in HAZOP studies, design risk assessments, and commissioning phases.Mechanical Design Engineer Qualifications / Skills / ExperienceA formal qualification in Mechanical Engineering (HNC / HND, BEng, or MEng) and at least 7+ years of experience in municipal or industrial wastewater projects.Expertise in Autodesk mechanical modelling software, data management toolsInterpreting PFDs / P&IDs.Knowledge of steel fabrication techniques, equipment used in water treatment, and mechanical specification development.Exceptional communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
