We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Nurse to join our Substance Misuse team at HMP YOI Drake Hall, a female  Prison located in Eccleshall

Hours  hours a week and weekends, hours / shifts negotiable

Salary

This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £40,211 per annum - depending on experience. (

Main duties of the job

As a Substance Misuse Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, prioritising patient care to develop individualised packages of care through comprehensive assessment and recovery planning. You will deliver a range of treatment options including clinical and psychosocial interventions in both a group and 1-1 setting with recovery at the centre of our healthcare wellbeing model. You must be able to carry out comprehensive assessments, initiate and review individual recovery plans and confidently communicate the full range of treatment options available to service users. You will monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects and liaise with prescribers.

    Qualifications required

  • Registered nurse with current NMC registration.
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD).
  • RCGP 1 in Substance Misuse or willingness to undertake.
  • Experience of working with opiate dependant patients.
  • Sound clinical substance misuse knowledge.
  • Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
