In this role, you will :

  • Plan and deliver engaging, tailored lessons to students with SEN including ASD, PMLD, SEMH and SLD / MLD, ensuring they reach their full potential.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to create personalised learning plans.
  • Use a variety of communication methods, including Makaton, PECS, and sensory activities, to engage and support students.
  • Develop and implement strategies to foster both academic and personal growth in a nurturing environment.
  • Provide a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for all students.
  • Contribute to the school’s ongoing development and culture of excellence.Could This Be Right For You? Are You…..
  • Qualified : Hold a teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS) and have experience working with students with PMLD or SEN.
  • Experienced : Have experience working with students with complex needs though we are also open to ECTs with relevant placements.
  • Skilled : Demonstrate a strong understanding of differentiated instruction, behaviour management, and working with students with complex learning difficulties.
  • Personable : Have patience, adaptability, and a nurturing nature to build trusting relationships with students, staff, and families.Desirable Skills :
  • Experience with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) methods.
  • Knowledge of sensory processing needs and strategies.
  • Experience or training in Makaton or other communication tools.
