The purpose of this role is as follows :

• To engage fully in assisting the Organist and Director of Music, leading the musical elements of the Cathedral’s life.
• To accompany, on the organ, the Cathedral Choir for the majority of the choral services.
• To take delegated responsibility for the Girl Choristers of the Cathedral Choir.
• To play a key role in the music team, in all aspects of its operation and deputize as required for the Director of Music.
