Health Care Support Worker - Adferiad Ward
We are looking for a caring and motivated Health Care Support Worker to help provide mental health services to patients within our 22 bedded Adult Mental Health Acute Unit, Adferiad Ward at St Cadocs Hospital. The position will be focusing on the direct needs of service users currently suffering a complex mental health problem and under the supervision of senior practitioners will assist in the provision of care and treatment.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as part of a team that provides mental health services to patients within an Adult In Patient Unit, focusing on the direct needs of service users currently suffering a complex mental health problem.
Under the supervision of senior practitioners the post holder will assist in the provision of care and treatment to clients.
The role of the Care Support worker is to provide support, give time to an allocated group of service users with complex needs and assist in programmes supporting their recovery during their stay on the unit. The post holder will assist the multi-disciplinary team in providing innovative approaches, which promote recovery and social inclusion for service users. Under direct supervision they will use a plan to provide a flexible client centred programme of activities for individuals and groups of service users.
The post holder will be expected to act at all times within the guidelines of the client's care plan and within the supervision of senior support and or professional in charge
The post holder will be expected to attend and fully complete an agreed induction programme and undertake on-going training relevant to the role. They will also have the option to achieve a Health and Social Care NVQ to support their career development.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and / or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
