Rotherham Hospice is hiring four Housekeepers who help ensure a clean, safe and welcoming environment for patients and their families.

Your role as a Housekeeper is crucial in ensuring that every patient experiences the highest standard of care and comfort during their time with us.

Reporting to the Housekeeping Manager, you will take pride in maintaining impeccable cleanliness and hygiene throughout our hospice. Your attention to detail and dedication to maintaining a pristine environment will help us provide a sanctuary of peace and dignity for our patients and their loved ones.

At Rotherham Hospice, we provide exceptional care for all those affected by terminalillness and are the only adult hospice in Rotherham for the people of Rotherham andsurrounding villages.We began offering Day Hospice services in 1994, and have grown over the years to nowprovide a 14 bed Inpatient Unit alongside our Hospice Community Team who provide carein the community.

Our dedicated team of staff and volunteers work together to providepalliative care that incorporates psychological, physical, social and spiritual support to helppatients and their families achieve the very best quality of life, both at home and in theHospice.

Key Responsibilities

Room Cleaning and Maintenance :

Clean and sanitize patient rooms, bathrooms, common areas, and office spacesaccording to established cleaning protocols and schedules.Dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sweeping floors, as well as cleaning surfaces,furniture, and fixtures to maintain a tidy and hygienic environment.

Linen and Laundry Services :

Collect, sort, and launder linens, towels, and bedding, ensuring they are clean, well maintained, and properly stored for use by patients and staff.Monitor linen inventory levels, replenish supplies as needed, and assist with linendistribution throughout the hospice facility.

Waste Management :

Dispose of waste and recyclable materials in accordance with waste managementpolicies and procedures, ensuring proper handling and disposal to maintain cleanlinessand safety.Infection Control Practices : Adhere to infection control standards and protocols, including hand hygiene, use ofpersonal protective equipment (PPE), and cleaning procedures to prevent the spreadof infections.

Assistance with Special Projects :

Assist the Housekeeping Manager and other team members with special cleaningprojects, deep cleaning tasks, and seasonal cleaning activities as needed.

Equipment Maintenance :

Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, steamer, floorscrubbers, and other tools, ensuring they are in good working condition and properlymaintained.

Safety and Security :

Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or security concerns to theHousekeeping Manager or appropriate staff members for timely resolution.Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment foroneself and others.

• Previous experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles,
