Job description

The Role

Provide domestic service to patients, staff and visitors of NHS Lanarkshire, (NHSL) premises through the use of effective and efficient methods, which deliver a ‘safe’ and welcoming environment and meet the required NHSL and Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI )standards. To work alongside and support new staff in the working environment

What we'll need you to bring

  • Knowledge of cleaning standards and related procedures.
  • Required to undertake on the job training and induction (this will generally take 4-6 weeks, depending on hours / days worked ), to achieve full competency across a range of duties
  • Working knowledge Health & Safety including participation in risk assessing individual tasks
  • Undertake NHS Lanarkshire compulsory training
  • Undertake mandatory Health Care Support Workers (HCSW) standards
  • Undertake and complete NHSS Domestic Services Workbook.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively and efficiently in a busy environment
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology.

Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK / EU / EEA licence.

It would be great if you also have

  • Recognised SVQ or relevant equivalent qualification
  • Experience working in a domestic services / cleaning environment
  • Knowledge of systems and processes e.g. HAI; manual handling; management of aggression; infection control; COSHH, fire safety
  • Contract type

    Fixed term for 12 months

    Part Time

    19.8 hours

    Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.

    Please note this is a fixed term post for 12 months. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.

    Location and Working Pattern

    This role will be based in Domestic Services Department within University Hospital Wishaw

    The working pattern for this role : Any shift Pattern between the times of 3pm to 10pm, Monday to Friday
