Location : North Shields

Salary : £150 - £220 per day (Depending on experience)

Contract Type : Daily Supply, Long Term

Start date : Immediate

About the Role

As an Early Career Teacher (ECT) , you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons to students of varying abilities. You will create a stimulating learning environment, develop lesson plans that meet curriculum standards, and use a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles. Your role will also involve assessing students’ progress, providing feedback, and supporting their academic and personal development. You will work closely with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive educational experience for all students.

Key Responsibilities of Early Career Teacher (ECT)

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that meet curriculum standards.
  • Teach a range of subjects to students in Key Stage 1 (ages 5-7) and Key Stage 2 (ages 7-11) .
  • Use a variety of teaching methods to engage and inspire students.
  • Assess students’ progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.
  • Support students’ academic and personal development.
  • Maintain accurate records of students’ progress and achievements.

Requirements of Early Career Teacher (ECT)

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as an ECT or in a similar teaching role preferably in a primary setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum and effective teaching methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • To work with GSL Education as an Early Career Teacher (ECT) , you will need :

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
  • Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including an enhanced DBS on the Updated Service.
