Role Overview :

As Senior Operations Manager, you will be involved in numerous operational projects and play a crucial role in supporting our operational team across multiple disciplines. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities to improve operations, reducing waste, and delivering fully costed initiatives. This role requires a strategic thinker who can also work hands-on to deliver projects within tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead diverse teams across multiple locations and disciplines.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for operational improvements.
  • Produce development and succession plans for key team members.
  • Deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Document workflows and ensure adherence to processes.
  • Analyse data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Create accurate forecasts for resourcing and oversee planning and dispatch functions.
  • Attend customer-facing meetings to resolve issues and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Provide a strong presence at our head office in Purfleet and travel nationally to support the wider network.

Key Skills and Qualifications :

  • Proven ability to lead and manage diverse teams.
  • Experience in process mapping and problem-solving.
  • Strong financial skills with a positive impact on P&L.
  • Background in transport / logistics, preferably in fuel / gas.
  • Experience in managing change and working within a unionized environment.
  • MCPC – International, IOSH / NEBOSH / CMIOSH qualifications.
  • High-impact presentation and communication skills.
  • Strong written, numeric, and IT skills.
