Casual Event Night Cleaner – York Barbican

The Venue

YorkBarbican is the largest entertainment venue in the area, attracting majortouring concerts, comedy, sporting shows and corporate events. The venue hostsover 200 events and over 130,000 visitors each year.

Rankingin the top 20 Music Club Venues in the UK in 2019 by Pollstar, York Barbicanhas hosted some of the biggest touring acts in the country, such as RickyGervais, Little Mix, Manic Street Preachers and Morrissey.

The Role

York Barbican are recruiting dedicated and hardworking Event Night Cleaners to join their operations team on a casual basis. The ideal candidates will be responsible for ensuring that our premises remain clean, tidy, and welcoming at all times. You will be a key member of our team, providing excellent customer service and supporting your colleagues to maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the building.

You will be responsible for :

  • Maintain Cleanliness : Ensure the building is clean and tidy at all times.
  • Customer Service : Provide excellent customer service and work effectively as part of a team.

    • Cleaning Duties :

  • Damp dusting surfaces.
  • Vacuuming floors.
  • Mopping hard surfaces.
  • Polishing furniture and fixtures.
  • Cleaning all washroom facilities.
  • Emptying waste bins regularly.
  • Replenishing supplies as needed.
  • Ordering provisions through the team leader.

    • You will have :

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Previous cleaning experience is preferred but not essential, full on the job training will be provided for all successful candidates.

    • Successful applicants will be offered a range of event-driven shifts in advance which will cover weekends, early mornings and late nights.
