Mechanical Design Engineer

Due to continued growth we are now looking to hire an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer in Wolverhampton.

You will be joining an experienced team in a predominantly office based role and be   responsible for developing and delivering mechanical designs to facilitate safe and compliant installations on site.

What you would do :

• Designing in conjunction with fire strategy reports local building regulations & planning authority requirements.
• Attending Design team meetings.
• Carrying out site surveys of existing installations where applicable.
• Producing heating / cooling (thermal modelling) and ventilation load calculations using industry software
• Sizing and selection of AHUs FCUs extract fans pumps chillers ASHP boilers plate heat exchangers etc
• Producing above ground drainage calculations and sizing of drainage systems
• Sizing and selection of domestic hot and coldwater equipment (heaters storage tanks etc)
• Producing pipe and duct sizing calculations using industry software or other desktop spreadsheets
• Sizing and selection of firefighting sprinkler and pumping systems (preferred but not essential)
• Producing stage reports & presentations.
• Preparing Designers Risk Assessment and Mitigation Reports
• Detailing mechanical layouts & schematics for build.
• Meeting project delivery deadlines.
• Production of detailed design and survey reports.
