Required to start Summer Term or September 2025

The Governing Board, Staff and Pupils are offering an exciting opportunity to be part of our Senior Leadership Team (SLT) as SENDCO at our larger than average, good maintained school, that is situated in the heart of its community on the edge of Dartmoor.

The SENDCO role is FTE, but there may be an opportunity to increase to FTE with an additional role of FTE.

We are looking for an individual who :

  • Has a proven track record as a Qualified Teacher with at least 5 years experience
  • Has achieved the National Award for SEN Co-ordination (or be willing to work towards this) and has a sound knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
  • Has extensive experience of working in a school with high levels of SEND need
  • Can demonstrate a thorough understanding of the relational approach to supporting regulation and behaviour
  • Has experience of submitting successful applications for EHCPs
  • Experience of working at a strategic whole-school level
  • Has designed and delivered training for teachers and support staff
