As Centrica Energy sets up for further growth, we are looking for a Compliance Advisor for Gas, Power & LNG to join our fantastic Market Advisory team! The Market Advisory team is a rapidly developing part of Centrica Energy’s wider Ethics & Compliance (E&C) function who are responsible for managing the compliance programme and delivering complex compliance advice to the Gas, Power and LNG businesses.
About the role
As a Senior Compliance Advisor, you’ll support the compliance programme and deliver complex compliance advice to the gas, LNG and power business. This business operates under a high degree of regulatory scrutiny from regulators, exchanges and Transmission System Operators in the wholesale energy markets, therefore strong knowledge of areas such as REMIT, MAR, Market operators (including Transmission System Operators) and exchange / trading venue rules is essential.
Your key responsibilities will be to :
Assist with providing compliance advice across the Gas, Power and LNG businesses
Support the application of Centrica Energy Compliance policies, guidelines and procedures
Ensure adherence to rules and T&Cs set out across European Transmission System Operators, regulators, trading venue and exchanges
Effectively communicate compliance recommendations including analysis of potential inside & confidential information
Analyse suspicious activity and transaction / orders
Develop and deliver scenario-based compliance training
Support annual risk assessments in conjunction with the Surveillance and Monitoring team
Implement regulatory change in conjunction with Centrica Energy’s Market Regulation team
Monitor changes to external rules and regulations to ensure Centrica Energy maintains compliance for its business activities.
The role is based out of one of our European offices in London, Aalborg, Antwerp or Copenhagen with 3 days per week in the office required. There is also a requirement for occasional travel to the other Centrica Energy offices in Europe.
About you

Experience in a compliance role in a wholesale trading environment
Good understanding of the global commodities market conduct framework with a particular focus on European Gas and global LNG including key regulations (REMIT, MAR, MiFID II, EMIR) and TSO and exchange / trading venue rules
Experience of responding to requests for information from regulators and exchange / trading venues
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
