This post offers the opportunity to pharmacy technicians to specialise in cancer care. Training will be provided to become competent in EPR transcribing, chemotherapy medication counselling and data recording for chemotherapy medications. We are committed to develop our staff, working closely with our clinical pharmacy and education & training teams. We welcome applications from pharmacy technicians who are interested in the care of cancer patients.
Frimley Health provides haematology and oncology care to patients on an in-patient and outpatient basis across three sites. The sites provide care to patients in Surrey, East Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire. This post is based on the Frimley Park Hospital site.
The post holder will support cancer services to the haematology day unit, oncology wards, and main pharmacy dispensary.
Main duties of the job
To undertake duties of a technical nature in pharmacy chemotherapy services in a manner which ensures a high-quality service provided to our patients and service users.
The post holder will be working within a multi-professional team, working with pharmacists, technicians and assistants to provide smooth, efficient running of the chemotherapy and aseptic services.
