EQUANS are recruiting for a Pre-Construction Manager to be based in Seaham. This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, car allowance, bonus and benefits package.
General Overview
Working across the North East & Cumbria Business Unit, the Pre-Construction Manager is responsible for Project Managing all new tender opportunities for both workstreams within the region. The Pre-Construction Manager is responsible for leading technical, work winning, commercial and production team members through all stages of the tender process to ensure a robust and winning proposal including management of all required internal governance requirements. The Pre-Construction Manager will ensure a compliant and efficient pre-construction phase is achieved in line with the Business Plan.
Key Accountabilities
Pre-Commencement
- Manage all tenders within the regional business to produce successful proposals.
- Manage all required stages of governance for P&C and UKRC.
- Facilitate the handover of successfully secured tendered schemes from Business Development and Estimating through to the Pre-Commencement Operations Teams.
- Facilitate and hold Client Post-Tender Award Meetings to efficiently and diligently commence the pre-commencement phase of each successful tender.
- Continue the liaison with the Client Team throughout the pre-commencement phase to ensure full and appropriate communication and engagement is maintained.
- Produce and agree a scheme specific Project Plan which will define the pre-commencement phase of each scheme.
- Define and agree the project start on site date in line with Client requirements and scheme constraints.
- To Project Manage each scheme through RIBA Stages 0-4, ensuring the applicable stage tasks, activities and meetings are carried out as required in order to achieve the defined start on site date.
- Chair regular Pre-Commencement Meetings with the Project Teams, as Project Manager for RIBA Stages 0-4 where applicable.
- Continually ensure compliance at RIBA Stages 0-4 of a project to internal and external standards and processes.
- Prepare weekly reports which accurately detail the status of each scheme progressing through RIBA Stages 0-4 where applicable.
- Ensure a Risk Register is established upon scheme launch into Operations Pre-Commencement; taking ownership of this Risk Register to ensure this is up to date and applicable risks are highlighted and an action plan developed to eliminate or reduce identified risks. Facilitate and chair Risk Workshops to ensure a collaborative approach is adopted to identify and managing risk. Raise unacceptable risk to Senior Management.
- Evaluate potential slippage against the Project Plan and develop an action plan to mitigate this slippage; raise any slippage to Senior Management
- Attend project post-completion review meetings. Capture the feedback relevant to pre-commencement from these meetings and ensure this feedback is incorporated within pre-commencement (process, monitor, meetings).
- Ensure regular communication with the North East Operations Teams to capture and share best practice and ensure processes are aligned closely across the Northern Region. Ensure regular communication with other regions to capture and share best practice.
Viewpoint for Projects
Develop a full Implementation Plan to ensure successful implementation of Viewpoint for Projects across the North West Business Unit, in line with the BMS Standards.Manage (with the assistance of the Document Controller) the implementation of Viewpoint for Projects across the North West Business Unit.Ensure all schemes are correctly set up on Viewpoint for Projects in line with the company wide BMS Standards.Support (with assistance of the Document Controller) the running and development of Viewpoint for Projects across the North West Business Unit.Introduction of BIM : Research and develop an implementation plan for BIM Level 2. Liaise with the Technical Team and other regions to develop this plan. Research good practice for the introduction of BIM Level 2.Business Development
Support and assist the Business Development Team where applicable with the production of winning bid submissions.What can we offer you?
