Job description

Qualified (Level 3 NVQ or Apprenticeship) Electrical Engineer?

Seeking an independent, field-based role in a mature, growing business?

As a key member of the Engineering Service Support Team, this Field Service Engineer role will play a crucial part in delivering world-class solutions to factories and intralogistics sites by maintaining, servicing and repairing transportation, conveyor and material handling systems.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Perform planned preventative maintenance and suggest system improvements.
  • Complete the service rota efficiently.
  • Ensure safety compliance and conduct mechanical / electrical repairs.
  • Collaborate with the team for innovation and system enhancements.
  • Work with head office on incoming priorities to plan your day and visits.
  • Manage incident / accident reporting and implement preventive strategies.
  • Prioritise workload for effective time management.

Qualifications Required :

  • City and Guilds or equivalent recognized NVQ Level 3 or Apprenticeship in an Electrical discipline.
  • Essential Experience :

  • Engineering experience in parcel handling, conveyors systems, material handling equipment or similar would be highly beneficial.
  • FMCG, intralogistics or manufacturing / production environments would also be ideal.
  • Familiarity with inverter drives, SCADA control, profibus, Asi, PC / PLC control is of benefit.
  • Successful delivery against contractual targets and KPIs.
  • Extensive experience in managing service contracts.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Skills :

  • Enthusiastic and motivated multi-skilled engineer.
  • PC literate with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel within your allocated area as well as potentially the UK if needed.
  • Work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
