Graduate Teacher Training – Pathway into Secondary Teaching

Are you a recent graduate or currently finishing university and considering a career in secondary education ? Do you want a salaried route into teaching that allows you to gain hands-on experience in the classroom before training as a qualified teacher?

Our Graduate Teacher Training Programme offers a structured pathway into teaching, allowing you to develop essential skills, gain classroom confidence, and secure a salaried teacher training placement .

Step 1 : Cover Supervisor Role (First Year)

  • Gain paid, full-time experience in a secondary school, leading lessons and supporting students.
  • Work alongside experienced teachers to develop your teaching skills.
  • Build confidence in classroom management and lesson delivery.

Step 2 : Salaried Teacher Training (Second Year)

  • Progress onto a salaried teacher training programme in your subject area.
  • Train on the job while earning an unqualified teacher’s salary .
  • Work towards gaining your Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) .

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • University graduates or final-year students looking for a direct route into teaching .
  • Individuals with a degree in a relevant subject (e.g., Maths, Science, English, Humanities, MFL, PE).
