Doncaster / Scunthorpe

Salary £35-40,000 negotiable, private cash / health plan.

Full-time permanent. Hours Monday Thursday 8 am - 4.30 pm, Friday 8 am - 3.30 pm, and expected to assist some early and later hours from time to time.

We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to provide clear leadership for the development of an environment focused on Quality, working for a very established and reputable manufacturing firm in the joinery construction sector dealing with commercial joinery projects.

Responsibilities include :

  • Developing a Quality Management system, including ISO14001 / ISO 9001, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Controls Plans, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), and Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) processes.
  • Maintaining relationships with customers and suppliers to maximize profit and efficiency.
  • Managing the audit program, supplier development, and improvement.
  • Working proactively with all Directors, Managers, Supervisors, and Employees to maintain a program of continual improvement.
  • Leading a correct-at-source and problem-solving methodology (Lean).
  • Achieving quality targets for customers and business goals.
  • Contributing to the creation and implementation of best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to improve operational performance.
  • Implementing all relevant procedures described in the Quality Management System and ensuring compliance.
  • Responding to customer complaints with containment actions, full analysis, and implementing short-term and long-term countermeasures.
  • Updating quality documentation and communicating lessons learned from quality concerns in new customer contracts.
  • Ensuring that all necessary systems and procedures are in place to satisfy customer requirements and audits.
  • Training others in all aspects of quality system and application procedures.
  • Undertaking internal and process audits of the Quality Management System.
  • Leading regular inspection meetings with representatives from appropriate departments to establish an action plan for improving build quality.
  • Producing written reports and making presentations. Ensuring Health and Safety practices are observed.
  • Performing any other reasonable duties to assist the company in attaining its business objectives.
