Job Description

A successful multinational company based in Reading, UK currently seeks a CAD Manager to be responsible for working with multi-site teams to drive and oversee design implementation and design support towards successful tape-outs.

You will be joining a team of innovative industry leaders working in the area of high quality, high speed signal conditioning and will have the opportunity to manage a diverse, multi-site EDA / CAD / PDK team. You will be responsible for hiring, scheduling, upskilling, and mentoring. You will oversee workload management, schedule projects, assign resources, and provide updates to internal management. You will be developing project environments, methodologies, and mixed-signal design flows for IC and System design engineers, as well as training and supporting the development of design flows for multi-site engineering teams using industry-standard EDA software such as Cadence, Mentor, Synopsys, and Cliosoft.

The successful applicant will have 10+ years of experience in IC Design and / or EDA / CAD Engineering. You will have excellent communication skills along with the ability to reduce complex information into an easy-to-understand form for other team members. You will have the ability to identify and analyze problems, devise plans, and implement solutions, as well as a deep understanding of project execution requirements. You will ideally be skilled in managing a team or have some experience in technical leadership.

Experience is required in some or all of the following :

  • EDA / CAD flows in Analog, Mixed-Signal, and Digital designs : frontend, backend, testability, validation, and verification methodologies
  • Hands-on knowledge of industry advanced tools and techniques
  • Data Management tools for Analog, Digital, and Mixed-Signal projects (e.g., Cliosoft, GIT, SVN)
  • Experience in EDA Tools Administration (usage, installation, licensing)
  • Experience in leading and working with teams across different geographical sites
