An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join a friendly, one-form entry primary school in Southwark, starting in January 2025.

About the role : Behaviour Mentor

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with SEN and SEMH needs, promoting positive behaviour
  • Work closely with class teachers to create and implement stimulating behaviour strategies that promote progress.
  • Deliver targeted interventions in small groups and 1 : 1 sessions to support social and emotional development.
  • Support children across key stages, from Year 1 to Year 6, ensuring individual needs are met.
  • Help pupils build confidence, resilience, and the tools to succeed both academically and socially.

  • What we're looking for in a Behaviour Mentor :

  • Prior experience as a Behaviour Mentor or SEN Teaching Assistant is essential.
  • Strong understanding of SEN and SEMH needs, with a compassionate and patient approach.
  • Excellent communication skills to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
  • Ability to adapt strategies to suit individual pupil needs and track progress effectively.
  • A proactive and committed attitude to making a real difference in a primary school setting.
