Job description

LASC Childcare Services are looking for an experienced Room Supervisor to join their well-established team Full Time (38 hours over 4 days Tuesday - Friday) for our preschool room.

  • The Role of Room Supervisor :

    Day to day running of the playroom, supporting the staff team, parents & children. Keeping children's care plans & chronologies up to date, organising planning, evaluations and evidence to support children's learning. Working with the management team to support the Nursery Improvement plan.

    As a Qualified Nursery Practitioner, you will be role modelling your knowledge and best practice to colleagues, the children and the families that attend LASC.

  • As a key worker, you will ensure every individual child's needs are met.

  • Speak up against practices that don't support safeguarding or our core values.
  • Service : We are one of two nurseries within a large childcare service providing care for children aged 3 months - 16 years in Nursery, Out of School Care and Additional Support needs service.

  • Working in partnership with parents.
  • Support parents with any ASL needs.
  • Embrace and promote our Standards of Excellence in every part of your role.
  • Be a key member of the team to plan and implement daily / weekly activities to meet the children's individual learning needs.
  • Adhere to our childcare policies.
  • Create a setting that is clean and welcoming, with well-kept educational resources.
  • Ensure that children's observations are detailed, reflective and provide developmentally challenging next steps.
  • Working as part of a team to provide the best care and early years experiences as possible.
  • Your Qualifications and Experience :

  • Minimum SVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Early Years / Childhood Practice
  • Previous experience working and caring for children under 5
  • Passion to deliver high quality childcare and exciting learning opportunities
  • Willing to work towards SCQF Level 8 Childhood Practice
  • Experience :

  • Childcare : 3 years (preferred)
  • Work remotely : No
