We believe providing healthy and nutritious meals for our students is essential to their well-being and success. As the school cook you will be responsible for preparing balanced and tasty meals for our students in a kitchen that meets the highest hygiene and safety standards.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications.

Meal preparation, including chopping, slicing, and marinating ingredients.

Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.

Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service .

Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed.

Help train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques and safety procedures.

Skills

Strong culinary skills with experience in meal preparation and food preparation techniques.

Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in a restaurant setting.

Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.

Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues.

A passion for cooking and creativity in developing new dishes is highly desirable.

Previous experience in a school kitchen or culinary environment is essential

Experience

Of operating kitchen equipment safely

Supervision of kitchen staff

Working with young people

Qualifications

At least Level 3 Food Safety or equivalent

Atleast Level 2 qualification in food preparation and cooking
