You'll work closely with the pastoral, safeguarding, and behaviour teams to help students overcome barriers to learning and personal development.Key Responsibilities : Provide consistent 1 : 1 and small group SEMH support to students in KS3 & KS4Collaborate with the Head of Year and behaviour leads to support student welfare, behaviour, and attendanceSupport children both in and out of lessons, building trusting relationshipsUse restorative practices, behaviour mentoring, and structured conversations to build self-regulation skillsContribute to student behaviour plans and attend multi-agency meetings where neededWork closely with families, external professionals, and the wider school teamOffer emotional literacy and resilience-based interventions, tailored to individual needsIdeal Candidate : Must have experience working in a secondary school settingBackground supporting pupils with SEMH, behavioural, or pastoral needsExperience or understanding of CBT, emotion coaching, or school-based counselling is desirableCalm, empathetic, and solution-focused with strong communication skillsConfident managing sensitive situations and contributing to safeguarding practicesSchool & Location : Situated in the Newham area, this large and well-resourced secondary school is committed to delivering high-quality pastoral careExcellent public transport access including : Prince Regent DLR Station (5-10 minute walk)Custom House (DLR & Elizabeth Line) nearbyBuses 300, 325, 473, 241 and others serve the area regularlyEasily accessible from surrounding boroughs including Tower Hamlets, Barking & Dagenham, and HackneyStaff bike storage available on-siteIf you're experienced in supporting students with social, emotional or behavioural needs and are ready to make a lasting impact in a dynamic secondary school - we'd love to hear from you.Apply today with Long Term Futures, or contact us directly to discuss the role further.🔹 Not the right role?
