Job summary

We are lookingfor a reliable and compassionate individual to join our friendly team as a Phlebotomistat our GP practice. This is an excellentopportunity for someone who is enthusiastic about patient care and eager to developtheir skills in a healthcare setting.

You will beresponsible for taking blood samples from patients for diagnostic testing,ensuring that all procedures are carried out safely and efficiently whileadhering to professional standards and infection control guidelines.

This is anopportunity to gain valuable experience in primary care in a supportive andinclusive working environment. You will be joining a practice that valuesteamwork, respect, and professionalism.

No prior experience is required; full training will be provided to the right applicant.

Main duties of the job

You will performvenepuncture to collect blood samples from patients as requested by clinicians.

Measure andrecord patients height, weight, and body mass index (BMI).

Obtain anddocument smoking and alcohol status as part of routine patient healthassessments.

Ensure accuratelabelling and handling of blood samples for laboratory processing.

Maintain highstandards of infection control and follow all health and safety protocols.

Provide a calm,reassuring presence to patients who may feel anxious about procedures.

Update patientrecords accurately using the GP practices clinical system.

Assist withother clinical tasks as required, in line with the needs of the practice.
