Transport Supervisor

36,000 - £38,000 per annum

Buntingford

Mon – Fri 45hrs per week

Interaction Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Transport Supervisor for a waste management company based in Buntingford. This is a temp-perm position with the opportunity to go full time. Our client needs a well-rounded individual who can think on their feet and work in a fast-paced environment. This is a Monday to Friday position with start times varying between 06 : 00 – 14 : 00 or 08 : 00 – 17 : 00.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all operations are compliant with Health and Safety Standards, Company Policies, Procedures, and Waste Management Legislation.
  • Effective management of resources and services; report any problems to the Contract Manager.
  • Ensure your team and operations meet targets.
  • Conduct daily and weekly audits to ensure all operations meet Health and Safety Standards.
  • Maintain work reports and vehicle logs.
  • Update employee-related paperwork to include timesheets, holidays, and sickness / absence.
  • Organise staff communications, meetings, and training.
  • Carry out any other reasonable job-related tasks as the company may require you to undertake from time to time.

Key Knowledge / Qualifications

  • Management or Supervisory qualification.
  • Effective organisational and planning skills.
  • Previous experience working in the Waste Industry.
  • Experience in quality control.
  • Experience in conducting audits.
  • IOSH qualification.

    • Key Characteristics

  • Previous experience of working with or managing a team.
  • Previous experience of Street Sweeping and / or Refuse Collection (as appropriate).
  • Minimum basic computer skills.
  • LGV Licence (desirable), Digital Tacho Card, Valid CPC Card (as appropriate).
  • Must be willing to assist on street cleansing / collections as required.
