Reporting into the Financial Controller, this will be a key role within the business maintaining the accuracy of financial records, producing month end accounts and ensuring all key balance sheet accounts are fully reconciled. You will also assist with the efficient running of the finance department, providing accurate information with financial analysis, whilst providing strategic and practical support to the Financial Controller and wider business.

We are a standalone product area positioned within of three Business Areas within the Trelleborg Group, who have a total of around 21,000 employees around the world.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Preparation of journals, including supporting calculations, to ensure accuracy of financial documents
• Management of prepayments and accruals
• Ensuring key balance sheet accounts are reconciled and up to date
• Confirming and reconciling intercompany balance
• Production of management accounts in line with Group reporting schedule and policies
• Providing relevant commentary and variance analysis
• Input of month end, quarter end and year end results into Group reporting software
• Maintenance of fixed asset register, including set up of new capital items and review of CAPEX against forecast
• Standard cost maintenance and variance analysis
• Direct labour and overhead cost analysis and reporting
• Inventory monitoring and review, including assisting with onsite stock take process
• Quarterly VAT reconciliations and submissions
• Assist with year-end statutory and tax audits
• Support the Financial Controller in budgeting and forecasting activities
• Support the Financial Controller in ensuring that internal control reporting is up to date in SAP, and develop business processes to ensure compliance
• Provide short term cover in the Financial Controller’s absence
• Provide technical support and guidance to other members of the finance team

The ideal candidate

Our Management Accountant will already be established in Finance, having gained 2 / 3 years + of experience in a similar role and either possessing full or part CIMA / ACCA qualification. You should be strong on attention to detail and have a hard-working, forward-thinking approach to your role. You will be adept at examining and fully utilising an ERP system and within all Microsoft Office packages especially, Excel / Powerpoint. Leadership experience or the willingness to co-develop a team is worthwhile.
