Salary : Up to 38000.00 per year (depending on level of experience training and qualification)

The Harbour Hospital in Poole is part of Circle Health Group Britains leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Theatre Practitioner to join their team of staff in the Theatre department.

This is a Full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required tocover a flexible shift pattern Monday to Friday and requires participation in an oncall rota.

Duties of this role include :

  • Assist the surgical team by preparing instruments maintaining sterility anticipating surgeon needs and ensuring equipment safety; support the Anaesthetist in equipment preparation patient monitoring airway management and positioning; and provide postoperative care monitoring vital signs managing pain and nausea and ensuring patient readiness for discharge.
  • Adhere to infection prevention and control policies and procedures at all times.
  • Set up operating theatres according to surgery type and specific patient requirements.
  • Check all surgical and anaesthetic equipment prior to use and report faults immediately.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to achieve safe and efficient surgical lists
  • Support and contribute to a positive respectful and efficient theatre environment.

Applicants should meet the following criteria :

  • Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC).
  • Experience or training in a theatre environment specialising in scrub anaesthetics or recovery.
  • Understanding of infection control manual handling and patient safety principles.
  • Ability to work under pressure problemsolve and respond quickly to changes in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail accuracy and commitment to safe surgical practice.
