Kelso Medical Group Practice - Scottish Borders

G P Partner Vacancy 6 - 8 sessions

9 GP Partners / 1 Salaried GP, semi-rural Practice of 12,000 patients in Kelso

Due to retirement Kelso Medical Group Practice is looking for a new and enthusiastic GP Partner to join the team. Starting later this year – September - December 2025

We are a progressive Partnership offering the above, to the right doctor, keen to join our team working in the beautiful Scottish Borders.

Located in the historic town of Kelso the practice serves the population of Kelso and the surrounding smaller hamlets with in the TD5 post code area.

The area offers a range of outdoor pursuits, affordable housing and excellent schooling and is within easy reach of both Edinburgh and Newcastle.

We provide high quality, responsive and compassionate medical care in partnership with a fantastic team of community staff.

We have a mixed team comprising of 10 GPs, 4 full time ANPs and 3 Prescribing Practice Nurses, strongly supported by our practice management , reception / secretarial and administration teams.

We currently offer a pre booked and on the day appointment service led by the GPs and ANPs. Our culture encourages a supportive team ethos of regular down time as a team, with a lively staff room!

Alongside a great district nurse & health visitor team, we have health board CTAC, physiotherapy pharmacy and mental health provision. We are proud of the professional, friendly and fun environment that we have created and provide a warm welcome to senior medical students from Edinburgh University.

Our current clinical systems are EMIS PCS , Docman and GP Order Comms.

We would propose a highly-individualised offer of partnership with negotiated package of measures to support a “First-5” GP, partner-to-be, with GP Partner mentorship and full induction all geared towards helping the right person start in a protected way into partnership General Practice.
