Learning Support Assistant (ASD Base)£435 - £500 weekly payStart Date : 6th January 2025Do you have experience supporting children or adults with Autism?Are you seeking an exciting and rewarding role?Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant to work within an ASD base of a Secondary school in Newport.   This will be a full-time position, and the successful applicant must be able to commit to the school hours 08 : 30 - 15 : 30This position is to begin 6th January 2025, l and will be until July 2025.  There will be an opportunity for the successful applicant to join the school on a permanent contract, pending a successful review.The salary for this position will be between £435 - £500 a week (depending on your experience).This is an exciting opportunity to join a school that is looking to invest in you with CPD training opportunities.  To help prepare you for the role Teaching Personnel will also offer Continuous Professional Development (CPD) courses and FREE Safeguarding Level 2 courseThe Ideal Candidate : Experience working with pupils with AutismHave a patient, calm and confident natureBe passionate about educationGraduates of a relevant subject (i.e. Psychology) are also encouraged to apply.Requirements : Have an enhanced DBS on the update server OR be willing to apply for oneEWC RegistrationWilling to provide 2 referencesProvide proof of right to work in the UKHave a minimum of 3 months school-based experience (desirable)About the SchoolIn this role you will join a popular secondary school within the Newport area.  The school has an ASD specialist provision dedicated to supporting pupils with complex Additional Learning Needs (ALN), including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).With its own dedicated entrance and separate areas for lunch and breaks, this ASD base offers a tailored environment designed to meet the unique needs of its students. The provision delivers a specialized curriculum led by expert staff, emphasizing the core values of determination and confidence.The ASD base features small group settings, comprising five teaching rooms and additional smaller support spaces. Each room is organized by developmental stage rather than age, with a focus on addressing the primary needs of the pupils.
