Fire Engineer

Fire Engineer required to work on High Speed Rail Project 6 month contract initially, ongoing Inside IR35 Various locations along the line of route, London to Birmingham Fire Engineer role brief : We are seeking a skilled Fire Engineer, focusing on the assessment of fire detectors and firefighting installations in shafts and portals under construction. The ideal candidate will possess site experience, complemented by design knowledge, enabling them to make informed recommendations when necessary. This role requires an individual who can effectively evaluate and ensure the safety and functionality of fire safety systems in dynamic construction environments. Skills : Site-based experience in fire engineering and construction Design knowledge in fire safety systems Ability to assess and recommend improvements for fire detection and firefighting installations Strong communication skills Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities Knowledge of fire safety standards and regulations Experience with testing and commissioning phases Ability to manage and coordinate with contractors and project teams Understanding of risk assessment and safety procedures Technical report writing and documentation skills Fire safety modeling tools (e.g., FDS, CFX) Certifications & Standards : Relevant fire safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH) Knowledge of applicable fire safety standards and legislation
