Private Care Guys, London

Full time 37.5 hours per week

Monday - Sunday, shift working

Permanent

We’re looking for a Surgical care Practitioner to join our Private Care at Guys part of London Bridge Hospital at London currently rated “Outstanding” by the CQC. The theatres across our facilities, provide a vibrant, exciting, and professional environment where the advance equipment and technology is second to none.

Private Care at Guy's is part of London Bridge Hospital, it has four Operating Theatres offering a wide range of surgeries including Robotics, Urology and Gynaecology. Equipped with three state-of-the-art DaVinci Surgical Systems, our theatres boast one of the largest multi-specialty private robotic programmes in the UK. With 49 patient bedrooms and four Level 3 ICU beds we offer our patients exceptional treatment across a multitude of acute and complex care, delivering a level of care rarely found in the private sector.

With 160 beds, 28 ICU beds and 10 operating theatres we offer our patients exceptional treatment across a multitude of acute and complex care and have use of the latest technologies and healthcare innovations.

Reporting to the Theatre Manager, you will lead a team of Anaesthetic practitioners working closely with scrub and recovery colleagues. You will have a strong knowledge and experience in operating theatres with an excellent understanding of the perioperative needs of patients, and a wide knowledge of peri-operative nursing practices and procedures. You must be organised, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with experience of supervising a multi-disciplinary team providing the highest standard of patient care across a varied caseload.

What you’ll bring :

  • Qualified Surgical Care Practitioner (SCP) experienced in Robotics (Da vinchi) is essential.
  • Registration as a healthcare professional (e.g. nurse or ODP) with a related honours degree
  • Recent experience in theatre nursing
  • 18 months working within a similar autonomous role is desirable.
  • An aptitude for clinical and operative practice
  • The ability to effectively manage the clinical area on a day to day basis and plan ahead
