Job Purpose
Zendbox, a dynamic and growing shipping, fulfilment, and e-commerce business, is seeking a Financial Control Specialist on a temp-to-perm basis. This role is pivotal in establishing robust financial control frameworks from the ground up while leveraging your experience from mature business environments to define and implement best practices. You will work directly with the CFO to design and enhance processes that ensure financial integrity, transparency, and operational efficiency as the business scales.
Key Responsibilities
o Design, implement, and refine financial control processes and reporting frameworks tailored to Zendbox’s growth trajectory.
o Develop internal controls and compliance procedures that meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
o Own and run internal audit process and controls Identify risk and report risks to CFO to manage a risk register.
o Oversee and manage transactional finance team accounts payable and accounts receivable.
o Cashflow reporting daily, direct cashflow management 3 months reporting.
o Management of payroll monthly and related controls.
o Manage control and accuracy of all payroll reporting working closely with HR.
o Review all annual balance sheet transactions proposal for P13 adjustment.
o Ensure that financial processes are scalable and can support the company’s long-term growth objectives.
o Build the PO system for controlling costs at source.
Requirements
o Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
o Proven track record in establishing financial control processes in a growing business environment.
o Experience working with mature businesses, with a strong understanding of best practice financial management and internal controls.
o Demonstrated ability to "build from scratch" while maintaining the rigour expected in established financial frameworks.
o Track record of implementing control measures.
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
o Proficient in financial systems, ERP software, and advanced Excel skills.
o Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
o High attention to detail and a proactive approach to risk management.
o Must be available to work on-site at the head office in Kent for the first month (5 days per week), with potential flexibility thereafter.
