Role Description
What you'll do :
- Working on a variety of projects in Yorkshire reporting directly to the Commercial Director.
- The role is split between office / site-based and will provide commercial support to the project teams on all projects for which the QS is allocated.
- Ensure that projects are administered effectively and that the business objectives in terms of meeting budgets, ISO & ESG requirements are achieved.
- Change Management and Control.
- Placing of subcontracts and their subsequent management.
- Valuations / Applications for Payment.
- Forecasting.
- Cost Value Reconciliation and performance monitoring.
- Final Account settlement.
- Supporting the Site Management Team in all matters commercial and contract.
- Show a good behavioural example in all aspects of health and safety, organisation, conduct, quality of work, and professionalism.
Skills & Experience
Knowledge of construction law and contractual terms.Experience in the use of standard terms and conditions contained in the JCT Standard Forms and awareness of the NEC suite of documents.Suitably qualified to degree standard is preferred but not essential, HND in Quantity Surveying is a minimum requirement.Knowledge of all aspects of construction particularly in the new-build residential sector.Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor working for a Main Contractor.Experience in procurement of subcontractors, measurement and control cycle, certificates and accruals calculations.Good knowledge of monthly reporting.Experience in the use of digital take-off software.Personal Attributes
Ability to work in a team environment contributing across the business unit.Good management skills.Ability to motivate self and colleagues to achieve high standards of compliance.Good operational planning and time management skills.Excellent numeracy and skills in all Microsoft packages.Experience and knowledge of estimating packages would be an advantage but not essential.Excellent organisational skills and financial and commercial awareness.Effectively manage time to meet deadlines.Why Join?
