Project Duration : 2 years (Large Refurbishment Project)

Overview :

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join our client working on a high-profile refurbishment project based in Aberystwyth. This is a permanent role with one of the UK’s leading main contractors, offering genuine long-term career prospects for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Cost Management : Prepare, monitor, and manage project budgets to ensure costs align with project goals.
  • Tendering and Procurement : Oversee the tendering process and procure necessary materials, subcontractors, and services.
  • Valuations : Conduct regular valuations and manage payment applications for subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Risk Management : Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with the project.
  • Cost Reporting : Prepare accurate and timely cost reports, forecasts, and financial statements for internal and client review.
  • Contract Management : Administer and manage contracts in compliance with relevant terms and conditions.
  • Stakeholder Liaison : Work closely with project managers, site teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery.

Candidate Requirements :

  • Background : Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor for a main contractor.
  • Experience : Demonstrated success in refurbishment projects or similar large-scale construction initiatives.
  • Location : Reside within a commutable distance of Aberystwyth or be willing to lodge away during the week.
  • Skills : Strong understanding of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC), excellent numerical and analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Qualifications : Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Membership with RICS or equivalent is desirable.
  • Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders.
