Aspire People, a leading education recruitment agency, is excited to recruit dedicated and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to join a specialist through school in Shrewsbury. This school supports pupils aged 5 to 16 with social, emotional, and mental health needs, providing a nurturing and inclusive environment.

As an HLTA, you will :

  • Deliver high-quality support to students, working closely with teachers to implement engaging and effective learning strategies.
  • Lead small group sessions and assist in whole-class teaching, adapting activities to meet diverse needs.
  • Support students during outdoor activities and promote their physical and social engagement.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support to enhance their learning experiences.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, helping them develop their social and emotional skills.

What We're Looking For :

  • Experience working with children or young adults in an educational setting, preferably with those who have special educational needs.
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to teaching, with a willingness to lead activities both in the classroom and outdoors.
  • Relevant qualifications (, HLTA status or equivalent) are essential.
