Maxwell Consultancy are working with a global engineering business in search for Platers.  These are permanent, full time positions working in their state of the art workshop in Glasgow.  The company has been going from strength to strength in recent times with these being newly created posts.What's required?Time served apprenticeship or equivalent qualificationIdentify piece parts to drawings and manufacture accordinglyPrepare steel or other metal plates for manufacturing various componentsTo work with various thicknesses of metal plate ranging from 5mm to over 100mmTo operate heavy-duty guillotines, oxyacetylene flame cutters for curves and complex shapes and utilise rollers / presses to curve and bend plates.Weld or bolt together completed plates to fabricate the finished productsRead and interpret engineering drawingsTo measure and mark out plates and sections for cutting, shaping and drillingOperate roll bending machines and pressesWork as part of a close knit teamTo prepare and fabricate or modify in situ pipework for pump test.To support welding activities as and when required.Adhere to health and safety policies in the workshop at all timesWhat to expect?All necessary support to carry out the role efficiently and effectively33 days holidayOpportunity to buy and sell holidaysCompetitive salaryOpportunities to developQuarterly bonusPensionLife Cover
