Qualification

Essential criteria

  • Current registration with relevant professional body
  • Degree qualification
  • English at GCSE grade C or Functional Skill Level 2 & Maths at GCSE grade C or Functional Skill Level 2
  • Recognised mentoring qualification or equivalent experience
  • Expectation to undertake Enhanced Practice qualification or equivalent.
  • Demonstrates evidence of on-going continuous professional development.

Desirable criteria

  • Diploma level training or equivalent in specialist area.
  • Experience

    Essential criteria

  • Thorough and up-to-date knowledge of best practice, particularly within specialty area and the application of this in practice
  • Experience of managing change as part of service and practice development.
  • Demonstrates ability to apply research-based practice and advocate it to improve the quality of patient clinical assessment and management.
  • Experience of supervising, teaching, mentoring and developing staff.
  • Experience of implementing, commenting on and proposing changes to policies and protocols.
  • Able to demonstrate ability to deliver training and education to patients.
  • Able to accept responsibility for working under own initiative within boundaries of role.
  • Demonstrates commitment to working as part of a team and ability to build the team.
  • Desirable criteria

  • Experience of working in partnership with all levels of staff, evidencing the ability to plan and co-ordinate the provision of care.
  • Experience of participation in research and development, and clinical audits in own specialist area.

  • Able to demonstrate theoretical and practical, knowledge of uro-gynaecology specialty and common presentations.
  • Understanding of the theory and application of Clinical Governance.
  • Ability to demonstrate a depth and breadth of understanding of current issues and policies and have the ability to translate into practice.

  • Understanding of the principles of effective budgetary management.
