Junior Wordings Technician

This is a newly created role for an additional Technical Wordings support individual to join the Lockton P&C Specialties Wordings team, working closely with Account Managers and Broking teams. In this role you will assist with the drafting of insurance policy wordings, wording endorsements, wording comparisons and for new insurance products, as these are developed.
The role will best suit those individuals who are highly driven and motivated, able to work under pressure and have an excellent grasp of English to at least A Level standard. Previous insurance experience is not essential but would be advantageous. We would also consider someone who is keen to start and develop a career in the industry.
In this role you will gain a good understanding of insurance and receive training on all aspects of policy wordings and insurance coverages, including how to construct a policy wording.
Your key responsibilities in the role will include :
- Amending wordings per Underwriter and Client requested changes
- Preparing and drafting wordings per Underwriter quotes and Client submissions
- Preparing wording endorsements
- Reviewing Market Reform Contracts to ensure that they reflect the coverages / clauses and conditions per the policy wordings
- Drafting and constructing policy wordings and schedules for pre-prepared wordings
- Wording comparisons between two policies to highlight differences in the coverage each wording is providing when an Insured changes their Underwriters
- Supporting the team with day-to-day wording tasks
- Responsibility for maintaining and updating the wordings workflow Excel spreadsheet
- Work effectively within the team using interpersonal skills to collaborate with colleagues, while also providing technical support
- Attending client meetings and work on the renewal placements, and handling wordings enquiries throughout the year, as required.
