We’re currently undertaking our pay review process and it is likely that this salary will be increased from 1st April 2025.

What it's like to work here
You'll be based on Blakeney Point with accommodation provided in the remote and iconic, blue Lifeboat House. You’ll be part of a team living on site, made up of 2 seasonal Assistant Rangers and an Area Ranger. The wider Countryside team, based on the mainland, is spread along the coast from Brancaster to the Norfolk Broads.
What you'll be doing
As an Assistant Ranger, you’ll be supporting the success of beach nesting birds across a site that is important locally, nationally and internationally. The role includes survey and monitoring work, predator control, site inspections, routine practical maintenance, supporting volunteers, interacting with visitors and helping to deliver activities that strengthen people’s connections with the outdoors.
As no two days are the same, the nature of the role means a flexible approach is crucial to ensure the right level of support is given across the site. So, whether you’re maintaining our outdoor spaces or talking to people, you’ll inspire others to love our beautiful places as much as you do.
You can view the full role profile for this role in the document attached. You don't need to have all of the knowledge, skills and experience listed in the role profile; this is just to provide a full picture of what’s possible in this role.
