I am recruiting a CARING and PASSIONATE Senior Independent Domestic Violence Advisor on behalf of a fantastic service in the Cardiff City Centre area. I am keen to speak with candidates who are dynamic, inquisitive, have a passion for rights, diversity and inclusion and want to fight alongside those who may not have a voice.
You will be supporting women and children by providing them with an individually tailored support package. There is a need to work flexibly Monday to Friday between the hours of 09 : 00 and 19 : 00 and also take part in an on-call service.
This position is open to women only under the Equality Act 2010 pursuant to Schedule 9, Part 1. It is also subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Predominantly working in the adult team, but working across all support services to provide advice and guidance to staff as neededComplete file audits to ensure best practices and high-quality work are undertakenComplete case reviews with staff to provide coaching and encourage reflective practice and feedback to the team managerHold complex and diverse caseloadsProvide specialist advice and guidance to external agencies in line with company policy and relevant legislation.Develop and deliver training internally and externallyEnsure risk is identified and safety and support, and plans reflect the needs and wishes of the individuals accessing the supportPrioritise cases and provide proactive, short to medium-term crisis intervention service through individual safety, support and recovery planningAdvocate for service users with agencies that can help to address domestic abuseUnderstanding the role of all relevant statutory and non-statutory services available to domestic abuse victims and how your role fits into themProviding advocacy, emotional and practical support and information in relation to legal options, education, housing, health, finance, education, and support services such as adult services, children's services & health visitorsWorking directly with all key agency partners to address the safety of high-risk victims and ensuring that their safety plans are coordinated, particularly the MASH and MARACManage a caseload, ensuring each client receives the trauma-informed, needs-led, risk-assessed service individual to their needsHelp maintain accurate and confidential case management records and databases, and contribute to monitoring and reporting information for the service.Comply with GDPR / data protection legislation, confidentiality and information sharing policy and procedures and all legislation connected to your work.Support colleagues and partner agencies through awareness-raising and institutional advocacy in order to provide the best possible service for service usersRespect and value the diversity of the community in which the services work and recognise the needs of a diverse range of clients, ensuring the service is accessible to all.Remain up-to-date and compliant with all organisational procedures, policies and professional codes of conduct.Requirements :
