Joinery & Fit-Out Estimator – EVM Glasgow

Established over 33 years' ago, EVM specialises in  high-quality joinery, bespoke fit-outs, and visual branding solutions , delivering  exceptional craftsmanship and precision  for commercial and retail spaces. Based in Glasgow, we work on a variety of projects, from custom interiors and shop fitting to large-scale corporate installations, and major sporting and cultural events.

To support our continued growth, we are seeking an  experienced Joinery & Fit-Out Estimator  to play a key role in accurately  costing projects  and ensuring the  efficient delivery  of our bespoke joinery and fit-out services.

The Role

As a  Joinery & Fit-Out Estimator , you will be responsible for providing accurate project costings, from  materials and machine time to labour and installation . You will work closely with clients, suppliers, and the joinery production and AutoCAD teams to ensure every project is correctly estimated on time and within budget .

Key Responsibilities

  • Estimating  costs for  materials, machinery, labour, installation, and delivery
  • Preparing  detailed quotations and tender submissions
  • Liaising with  suppliers and subcontractors  to source competitive pricing
  • Assessing  technical drawings, specifications, and project requirements
  • Identifying  cost-saving opportunities  without compromising quality
  • Collaborating with  project managers and production teams  to ensure feasibility
  • Conducting  risk assessments  and advising on cost-related challenges
  • Keeping up to date with  market trends, material prices, and industry regulations

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum  5 years of estimating experience  in  joinery and fit-out projects
  • Strong knowledge of  materials, joinery techniques, and manufacturing processes
  • Experience in  costing machine time, labour, and installation logistics
  • Ability to  read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong negotiation skills for  supplier and subcontractor pricing
  • Proficiency in  estimating software and Microsoft Excel
  • Familiar with  AutoCAD software
  • Excellent  analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and  manage multiple projects  simultaneously
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
