Lead Maintenance Engineer sought by a Renewable energy organisation, backed by a leading private equity group, which invests in clean, sustainable energy businesses.
This role is based at the Eccleshall plant, with occasional travel (circa every two months) to the Darlington (1 day) and Isle of Wight (overnight stay) sites.
The Role :
Reporting to the Technical Director, the Lead Maintenance Engineer is focussed on management of projects as and when they arise and the smooth running of the maintenance of the plant, processes and procedures in conjunction with the Plant Manager. The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for scheduling, coordinating and budgeting maintenance works within the Company, including :
- Preparation of the annual maintenance budget for the assets in the group
- Scheduling and planning of the outage works in conjunction with the site managers to ensure safe and efficient use of resource and contractors to complete the maintenance works to time and budget
- Development of the maintenance management records and forecasting to undertake preventative planned maintenance
- Development and review of maintenance procedures complete with COSH and RAMS, and to ensure these are implemented by staff and contractors
- Ensure the maintenance standards set ensure the assets comply with the regulatory requirements and Company standards
- Assist with front line and routine maintenance
- Undertake ‘Housekeeping’ and maintain a safe and clean workplace
Your key day-to-day duties of the Lead Maintenance Engineer will include :
You are a direct support to the Plant Manager in the co-ordination of maintenance proceduresSchedule and plan maintenance activities ensure spare parts, equipment and manpower is available to undertake the work programme within the timescale and costEnsure adequate spare stock holding is maintained for critical spare parts to prevent unnecessary downtimeUndertake critical spare analysis and ensure redundancy where possible to maintain operational outputAssess and develop maintenance system to avoid unscheduled outages due to plant or component failureDevelopment and implement condition based monitoring that incorporate OEM recommendation to maintain asset life but reduce unscheduled breakdowns with a systematic approach to eliminating unscheduled outages and reducing maintenance costsTo implement Company Health & Safety Policy and development of Safe Working Practices for all aspects of Asset to relevant HSE standards, Risk Assessment, COSHH requirements and good industry practicesTo set standard of overall cleanliness and housekeeping of the Plant facility, safe operation of the process plant, safe installation and commissioning of all new plant and equipmentTo ensure that all employees, visitors and contractors are working in a safe mannerTo report and rectify any unsafe equipment, acts or dangerous occurrencesThe successful Lead Maintenance Engineer will demonstrate :
HND in Electrical and Electronic EngineeringKnow of Control systems and Instrumentations, Scada and PLC programme and electrical power distribution and control systems, maintenance management systemTeam player able to integrate with operational staffProblem solver and finisherProject management, contract negotiation, technical specification and planning and scheduling workExperience in industrial boilers and reciprocating diesel or gas fuel enginesHappy to travel occasionally to Darlington and Isle of Wight sitesFull UK driving licence and vehicle required due to plant locationBenefits Package :
