Job description

There is 1 full time Band 6 fixed term position available. Fixed Term for 6 months.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our progressive and expanding AHP team within Midlothian Community Hospital and Highbank Intermediate Care Facility.

This post is within an AHP team that provides the inpatient care to the rehabilitation beds within Midlothian Community Hospital and Highbank Intermediate Care Facility.

You will be able to demonstrate a keen interest in using your clinical skills to support older people to reach their rehabilitation goals. You will have significant previous inpatient experience and it is essential that you enjoy working as part of a cohesive and supportive team.

In this post, you will be expected to provide a comprehensive specialist service of assessment, diagnosis, treatment / appropriate management, onward referral, and discharge for a complex range of patients referred to the service.

Experience of staff supervision / management would be beneficial. There will be an expectation to participate in clinical audit, quality improvement, in-service training, and evidence-based practice. You will have the opportunity to undertake the clinical supervision and appraisals of more junior staff, as well as contribute to the supervision and development of undergraduate / pre-reg students. You will be asked to deputize for the team lead in meetings related to the specialist clinical area when appropriate.
