We are looking to recruit a patient, warm, caring and reliable
- Female Support Worker with a full clean driving licence and car for a lady in her thirties with a diagnosis of cerebral palsy in her own home and in the Cardiff area. Client lives with her husband, cat and dog and likes to live a full and active lifestyle.
Role will involve all personal & domestic care, as well as supporting client to attend and participate in a wide range of different activities, including attending the gym / boxing as well as supporting client to care for her cat and dog. The client completes head painting and runs regular market stalls, the support worker will need to assist with these.
You must be registered with OR working towards registration with Social Care Wales.
You must hold a recognised Health and Social Care qualification (NVQ Level 2 or a Diploma) OR have completed the All-Wales Induction Framework OR be willing to complete this within 6 months of starting if successful.
Competent IT skills are desirable.

Assist the client to exercise choice and control over their own lives as far as they are able in everyday matters but taking into consideration cognitive problemsLiaise with and support the family as requiredAssist the client to ensure an adequate level of hygiene is maintainedSupporting the client to use local amenities such as shops and leisure facilities and attend community eventsFollow the service user plan as documented for the clientMaintain accurate and confidential recordsParticipate in manual handling procedures as specified for the clientMaintain professional boundaries with the client and their family members, adhering to direction from the case manager as appropriateWhat you will have :
Full driving licence and own car are essentialAbility to treat people with respect and dignity, in a non-judgemental, respectful and caring way, acknowledging their individualityPrevious experience working with clients with cerebral palsy and an understanding of special educational needsAn NVQ / QCF Level 2 or above in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)A genuine interest in providing the best person centre care possibleExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsWillingness to learn and developRegistered with OR working towards registration with Social Care Wales.Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS and enrol in the DBS update serviceWestcountry Case Management are a friendly, forward-thinking company who help our clients recruit their own support workers. You will be employed directly by the client; however, Westcountry Case Management oversee all aspects of the clients care package on her behalf.
