Teaching Assistant

Secondary school based in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire

33.25 Hours Per Week

Main Duties :

To work with and supervise individuals and groups of children under the direction / instruction of teaching & / or senior staff, inclusive of lesson preparation, planning, delivery and assessment, enabling access to learning for all pupils and support in classroom management and behaviour techniques.
To undertake the role of a keyworker in the reintegration of pupils who have been on long term absence or persistent extended absence
To work collaboratively with the attendance team and SLT link for attendance to ensure that a clearly defined plan for reintegration is in place and measured outcomes agreed
To be the link between teacher, student and home so that lost learning through absence does not impact on future attendance
Management of other teaching assistants including deployment and performance management.

has previous experience of working with children aged 11 -16 in an education setting
