GSL Education are excited to invite applications for the role of  SEN Learning Support  in an SEN school in  Cosham . This role is perfect for individuals dedicated to offering personalised support to students, empowering them to overcome obstacles and achieve their best.

Job Title : SEN Learning Support

Location : Cosham

Salary Range : £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on Experience)

Start Time : Immediate

Contract : Day-to-day / Long-term, Part-time / Full-time

About the Role :

As an  SEN Learning Support , you will play a crucial role in the educational development and well-being of students with special educational needs. Your support will help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student can thrive.

SEN Learning Support Responsibilities :

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEN, implementing tailored strategies to meet their individual needs.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of personalised learning programmes, working closely with teachers and other support staff.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging atmosphere that promotes confidence and self-esteem in students.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Support classroom management and help maintain a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Collaborate with the SEN team to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Assist with the preparation and organisation of learning materials and resources.
  • Promote positive behaviour and support students in developing social and emotional skills.

SEN Learning Support Job Requirements :

  • Relevant qualifications in Special Educational Needs or Learning Support are highly desirable.
  • Proven experience working with students with SEN in an educational setting is essential.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
  • A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine commitment to enhancing the educational experiences of students with SEN.
  • The ability to adapt to various situations and respond effectively to the needs of individual students.
  • Understanding of various Special Education Needs conditions, including autism and ADHD etc.
  • Have an  updated CV  ( covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps ) and  an enhanced DBS  registered to the  Update Service  (or be willing to apply for one).
