Job description

You will be responsible for overseeing the development and management of data-centric products or services. This role involves identifying new data product opportunities, defining product vision and strategy, managing the product lifecycle, and ensuring that the data products meet the needs of users and achieve business goals. Additionally, you will own data strategy and governance for the firm

You will also be responsible for owning the relationship between the Data Group and the Distribution & Marketing teams. You will represent the provision of comprehensive data management services globally and so ensuring high quality and timely delivery, risk control, efficiency, and on-going support to enable seamless delivery.

You will work with the Distribution & Marketing leadership to deliver on the enterprise data strategy as defined by the Data Group and ensure the Distribution & Marketing team’s views and requirements are fully represented inside all decision-making forums that affect the delivery of this strategy.

How you'll spend your time..

Data Group product Management :

o Product Strategy Development and communication : Communicate the vision and strategy for data products and their development and availability on the Data Platform to internal clients within Distribution and Marketing.

o Product Lifecycle Management : Oversee the entire data lifecycle as viewed by the Distribution and Marketing function supporting innovation, from conception through development, launch, growth, and retirement. Ensure that each stage aligns with the product strategy and meets the needs of the Distribution and Marketing function.

o Feedback : Conduct user research and gather feedback to understand the needs and pain points of users. Use this insight to inform product features, enhancements, and user experience.

o Data Analysis and Metrics : Utilize data analysis to inform decision-making, track product performance, and measure success against key performance indicators (KPIs).

o Market Research : Conduct market research to understand industry trends, competitor performance, and customer preferences. Use this information to inform strategic decisions and identify growth opportunities.

o Data Governance and Quality Control : Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and security of distribution and marketing data. Implement best practices for data management and compliance with relevant data protection regulations.

o Business Information Architecture – Represent the Distribution and marketing function on the identification, definition, and classification of data and information across the enterprise landscape. Analyse, assess data sources, lines of business, map systems and interfaces used to manage data, contribute to defining and establishing standards for information architecture, data management, data quality, data validation and propose strategies to gap between current state and future goals.

o Organization - Support data activities across the entire organization and maintain strong, highly engaged global teams with a culture of stakeholder support and a focus on maintaining key controls.

o Master Data – Continue to build, integrate, and strengthen our master data solutions (e.g., client, product) into trusted and efficient authoritative sources across the firm. Execute and develop master data strategy and roadmap while supporting the day-to-day master data needs for the firm. Develop the team’s mastering skills and increase leverage of the master data platform.

Distribution and Marketing Relationship lead :

o Cross-Functional Leadership : Work closely with Technology, Market Data Vendor management, Data Group, Distribution and Marketing senior leadership, and other teams to bring data solutions to market. Serve as the bridge between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring clear communication and collaboration.

o Technology Management : Collaborate with IT to select and manage tools and technologies for data management, storage, and analysis. Ensure robust data security and privacy practices.

o Stakeholder Management : Serve as the overall owner for data-related queries from the Distribution and Marketing departments globally. Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure alignment and foster collaboration.

o Product Strategy Development and communication : Communicate the vision and strategy for data products and their development and availability on the Data Platform to internal clients within Distribution and Marketing

o Feedback : Conduct user research and gather feedback to understand the needs and pain points of users. Use this insight to inform product features, enhancements, and user experience working with the data group senior leadership team.

To be successful in this role you will have..

  • Ability to influence change and outcomes with senior leaders outside reporting lines / department.
  • Experience with maintaining internal client relationships to drive, through collaboration, business and data driven outcomes towards increased flow and reduced costs in the operating model.
  • Leader who began career in technical role and migrated to business / data leadership position.
  • Experience with enterprise information strategy development, concepts, and execution responsibilities
