Job description

Driver Hire Stockport are seeking an HGV Mechanic for ongoing temp role based in Glossop. The successful candidate must be a fully qualified and experienced HGV mechanic. You will be expected to work in a fast-paced environment and have experience in Vehicle Inspection and MOT preparation of vehicles / trailers, Fault electrician diagnosis, routine servicing and maintenance, and major component repair and replacement. If you have a HGV licence this is also preferred but not essential.

This role may very well lead to a full time position depending on the candidate.

Responsibilities :

Carrying out routine maintenance and repairs on all vehicles, trailers
Diagnosing and rectifying all types of HGV faults.
Ensuring health & safety regulations and safe working practices are adhered to.
Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness.
Repairing defects as reported by the Transport team

Requirements :

Technical qualification or proven experience repairing & maintaining HGV's.

Ability to work under pressure.

Ability to actively seek solutions to problems.

Ability to work as part of a team.

Good verbal communication skills.

Flexibility to undertake a wide range of tasks.
