EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
Our Water Quality and Environment team have an opportunity for you to join as our new Compliance Specialist.
In your new role, you’ll be responsible for the planning and delivery of the annual wastewater sampling and analysis plans for Operator Self-Monitoring and Urban Waste Water Treatment Directive (UWWTD) regulatory obligations as set out by the Environment Agency (EA) or Natural Resources Wales (NRW).
Ensuring delivery of the sampling plans through day to day liaison and overall contract management of the OSM and UWWTR Sampling and Analysis Contractors. Including provision and detail scoping in conjunction with Purchasing for Contract renewal.
Developing plans to meet evolving regulatory demands, and ensure all necessary processes and procedures are in place for internal and external audits.
Additionally, you’ll ensure key environmental regulatory ODI’s and EPA (EA / NRW) measures across the spectrum of our environment activities, including the new River Water Quality ODI are assured via both internal and external audit programmes.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
To succeed in this role, you’ll have Knowledge of the water industry regulatory arena, environmental regulations and environmental management system.
Experience planning and delivering regulatory sample plans for wastewater or water.
Excellent people management skills with the ability to communicate effectively with the regulator and stakeholders of all levels.
Strong analytical, planning and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage your own workload.
Experience in use of MS Office tools (Word, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, power BI). Knowledge and experience of sample manager or similar systems would be beneficial but not essential.
Relevant experience in an environmental discipline environmental chemistry, hydrology, hydrogeology, water management or similar.
Travel is required so you must hold a full UK driving license.
